Welcome to Just Progress

JUST PROGRESS (JP) is a political action committee organized by a group of CITIZENS FOR POLITICAL INTEGRITY. JP has two main goals:

Help Elect Progressive Democrats to Party and Public Offices
Help Build a Progressive Election Infrastructure

Our Accomplishments

Just Progress has its eyes on the 2008 elections as we have formed committees and are actively working toward Progressive victories in those elections.
Just Progress endorsed candidates have won 6 of 14 state and city elections since 2004:

4 of 9 races with JP involvement providing money and volunteers.
1 of 2 races with JP involvement providing money only.
1 of 3 races with JP involvement providing an endorsement and encouraging members and friends to give money and volunteer time.

Just Progress also is heavily involved in Democratic Party elections. Its heaviest involvement in party elections is in Tulsa County, where most of its members live.
The 2007 contest for First District Party Officers was spirited. Our own Greg Bledsoe won the Vice-Chair race over the incumbent Vice-Chair, and Susan Dergoul and Aaron Griffith were elected as First District Affirmative Action delegates without opposition. At the very end of the convention, a motion concerning proportional representation was debated and the convention supported proportional representation by a healthy majority.
At the 2007 Tulsa County Convention we successfully defended proportional representation. Elaine Dodd was elected Chair of the Tulsa County Democratic Party. Thanks to proportional representation, 50 persons were elected to be district / state convention delegates who would not have been elected under the old winner-take-all slate method.
At the 2005 First District Democratic Convention, Just Progress nominated and elected Susan Dergoul as the First District's affirmative action delegate.
At the 2005 Tulsa County Democratic Convention, Just Progress joined forces with the outgoing County Chair, Elaine Dodd, to win the battle for proportionate representation. As a consequence, many persons new to party politics were elected to represent Tulsa County as delegates to the State and First District Conventions.
In the 2005 Tulsa County Democratic Precinct Organization Elections, Just Progress helped elect many new Progressive precinct officers by running an exciting candidate for Vice-Chair of the Tulsa County Democratic Party, Susan Dergoul, and launching a campaign to elect Tulsa County's delegates to the Oklahoma Democratic State Convention through a proportionate representation process.
On December 11, 2004, Just Progress sponsored a Progressive Revival retreat designed to give Progressives a vision for a better future after the dispiriting results of the 2004 elections. The retreat provided the impetus for Just Progress to participate aggressively in the 2005 Oklahoma Democratic Party Organizational Elections.
In the 2004 Oklahoma legislative elections, Just Progress members provided core volunteer support and $1,000 each to three Progressive candidates for the Oklahoma State legislature.

A Call to Arms

Red States currently are very inhospitable to Progressive policies and candidates. This did not occur overnight, so Progressives face a Long March to Victory to reverse the current political environments of Red States. For a Power Point Slide Show detailing how Anti-Progressives achieved their current dominance in Red States, and what Progressives must do to reverse this situation, hit the link below:

To hasten the day when Progressives achieve victory in Red States, it is essential that Progressive Democrats engage in the hard work of developing effective Progressive communications, volunteer, and fundraising grassroots networks.
